Adobe, the maker of Flash, the ubiquitous Web video program, is launching a major advertising campaign tomorrow with overlay ads served into the video streams of Beet.TV and Rocketboom. Interactive banner ads will appear on numerous sites over the next few weeks.
In a dramatic display of its software platform, Adobe will create a billboard in Times Square, playing Flash video on a giant screen. The billboard will be live by New Year’s Eve, Beet.TV has learned.
Creative for the campaign, called flash on has been done by Adobe’s agency of record Goodby Silverstein , San Francisco.
Selling ads and managing the insertion on Beet.TV and Rocketboom is Blip.TV, the New York-based video sharing/ad network company that powers Beet.TV’s video encoding and distribution.
The overlay ads will appear on all 400 Beet.TV videos for 30 days.
I was in San Jose last week where I interviewed Mark Randall, Chief Strategist for Dynamic Media at Adobe. We met at the Streaming Media West conference.
Special thanks to Dina Kaplan, Mike Hudack and the crew at Blip.TV for helping achieve this milestone for the purple channel.
You can grab my interview with Mark right here.
