We expect more details to emerge on Monday about Conde Nast’s $25 million acquisition of technology blog Ars Technica. News first broke late on Friday afternoon.
David Carr at the New York Times dedicates his column tomorrow to the evolution of digital media at Conde Nast.
He interviewed Ars Technica co-founder Ken Fisher on why he decided to sell to the big magazine publisher. He told Carr:
“We didn’t have to take them on faith,” he said. “They have a track
record of understanding what they acquire, which was alarmingly not the
case with the other parties we talked to.”
I’ve posted above a video interview done by Kara Swisher and published on April 17.
Update: 5/19: Kara updated her post with the Ken Fisher interview this morning. Here’s Ken Fisher’s post.
