Advertisers who were previously nervous about Web video are starting to get religion thanks to the return on investment in the medium, said Web star Alex Albrecht in an interview with Beet.TV at SXSW.
The star of three successful web shows, "Diggnation," "Totally Rad Show" and "Project Lore," Albrecht is in Austin to host live versions of some of his shows at the SXSW Interactive festival.
He talked to Beet.TV about new "Diggnation" sponsor Adidas, which had the chance to see the interaction of fans and stars during Saturday night's live taping of "Diggnation."
Squarespace is also an advertiser for Albrecht's shows and has been tracking a 10 to 1 return on dollars spent in his Web shows, Albrecht said. He also talked about appearing on Jimmy Fallon, new projects he is working on and how to thrive in a down economy.
Producer's Note: Thanks to our friend and colleague Daisy Whitney of the New Media Minute, for landing the interview with Chris and others at SXSW in Austin.
