Thomson Reuters has announced a new online video service as part of a $1 billion plan to update the company's products and infrastructure. The new video portal is part of the company's paid service for financial professionals.
Here's the story in tomorrow's New York Times by Richard Perez-Pena.
A number of video producers are part of the program, which is still under development and will launch in June. I am very pleased to report that Beet.TV has a syndication arrangement to place its videos on the new Reuters business video platform.
It is very cool how the videos are transcribed automatically and posted adjacent to the video. This is an important utility for visitors to read quickly and see if they want to watch.
Here is the report on this development by paidContent.
More about the Reuters development will be discussed tomorrow, at the Beet.TV Online Video Roundtable at Adobe in San Francisco.
