Max Harper, a 27-year old community organizer and filmmaker was a key member of the presidential campaign of Barack Obama who created numerous campaign videos.
I caught up with him for this chat after his panel at the Personal Democracy Forum where he spoke about the video strategy of the Obama campaign.
In the first of two interviews, Max explains the unique approach to creating campaign video, which he calls "documentary promotional style." Great interview.
After the election, Max moved to D.C. where he has started a social media/video production company which is doing contract work for the administration including viral video campaigns supporting the Obama health care reform initiative as well as other advocacy projects.
Our next interview is about the power of e-mail marketing of video and how the Obama campaign leveraged its powerful database.
