We caught up with Shoba Purushothaman of The NewsMarket at the Arthur Page Society Conference last month.
Shoba is a PR pro turned entrepreneur/video evangelist. Her company works with TV news professionals, providing broadcast-quality video over the Internet.
Shoba took a break from the conference for senior corporate communication executives to talk with The Beet about how the explosion in online video is affecting the public relations profession. One big effect: Fear. After all, video is extremely transparent and this can be frightening to some in the field. But she says that communications professions are going to be turning to video more frequently in the months ahead, it is inevitable. So get past the fear factor!
