No one has a better handle on the new communications tools for public relations professionals than Steve Rubel, author of the highly influential blog Micro Persuasion.
This is the second installment of the interview I did with Steve last month at the AlwaysOn Summit at Stanford.
Here Steve talks about the new media tools for PR pros to embrace. He is keen on RSS feeds, which Steve says are underutilized –and tagging content to make it searchable.
I agree with Steve, whether it’s text, photos or video, you’ve got to tag content to make it findable through search. Successful search capabilities means that material will be found by a targeted audience — plus a whole universe of others who you can be reached. We know that the growing audience for Beet.TV is being fueled largely through search. It’s proper tagging that makes this work.
