BitTorrent has a new P2P service to distribute video, including Flash video, as a compliment to existing CDN services — or as a free standing distribution service.
It is currently testing the new service called DNA and is looking for video publishers to join the beta testing phase, Ashwin Navin, President and co-founder of BitTorrent, told me in this interview.
It seems that the whole CDN ecosystem is moving to incorporate some elements of P2P. The big CDN operators have begun to invest in the space. BitTorrent is in a position to do well as the demands for more video deliver continues to grow.
