In June I spoke with BitTorrent president Ashwin Navin about plans to provide a content distribution platform for producers to distribute content using his company’s P2P technology. Back then, the product, called DNA, was in beta. He give a great overview so I’ve republished the interview today timed to some big news.
This week the product went live with a number of customers including Brightcove.
There’s been a lot talk about BitTorentDNA in the context of the highly anticipated launch of Joost. Ryan Stewart at ZDNet wonders if emerging high-definition online video platforms emerging including BitTorrentDNA, might challenge Joost.
In a separate interview, Ashwin gives an overview of BitTorrent, the technology, and the evolution of a business. Check it out.
