Higher quality user generated video is inevitable, Forrester’s lead PC analyst told me a few weeks back when I was up in Cambridge. Better cameras and editing tools will make this all possible, J.P. Gownder explains.
Yesterday, I was in San Jose for the Streaming Media West conference. The prospects for higher quality video on the computer was a topic of widespread discussion. Whether it be developments with P2P, traditional CDN’s teaming with distribution players, new encoding systems and Web programs, this is all going to happen.
I had the opportunity to explore this topic with executives from Adobe, Microsoft, On2 and others. We will be posting these interviews over the next few days.
Here is a report from the show from Liz Gannes of NewTeeVee who moderated a panel on viral video techniques.
Stay tuned.
