Google will buy content companies so it will enjoy 100 percent of advertising revenue, says Business Week media columnist Jon Fine. He also expects Google to introduce an operating system for cable television set top boxes.
I visited Jon today at the Business Week headquarters in midtown Manhattan. I wanted to ask him about his Media Predictions for 2008 which were published just a few hours ago and will appear in next week’s editions.
We also spoke about the future of Microsoft, which he thinks will pull back from its media offerings and move successfully into the advertising network business.
And, he is positive about the evolution of the Wall Street Journal under the new ownership of Rupert Murdoch.
