Microsoft veteran Charles
Finkelstein, who has been a leader in a number of products including the video
editing program Movie Maker, which is installed virtually every Windows PC, is
excited about the prospects of a greater interactivity in online video.
With the arrival of Silverlight and the new Adobe Media Player, we will see more interactivity in online video. Viewer can decide what to watch, ads to consume and where to go. Think video game meets online video. This will be a major trend in the new year.
I spoke with Charles a couple weeks back in San Jose. We chatted about Web video and what role Silverlight, the new Web application for multimedia programming, will have. Charles is Group Program Manager, Expression Video.
