As big media continues to transform in the face of a revolution in digital media, it will continue to buy smaller companies who have nimbly established new business models, says Blaise Zerega of Portfolio magazine.
The Conde Nast veteran, who was managing editor of Wired then moved to New York to launch Portfolio is now heading back to San Francisco to head the magazine’s editorial operations on the West Coast.
I’ve known Blaise for nearly 10 years from his days when he was managing editor of Red Herring and I was the magazine’s publicist. I had lunch with him at Michael’s a couple weeks back to catch up and to wish he, Erin and their two beautiful children a wonderful life in San Francisco.
