If you are in the Bay Area this Sunday, you should make your
way up to Sebastopol for an awesome Earth Day fundraising party for the National Geographic Society and other
institutions fostering sustainability. (Earth Day is actually April 22.)
The
theme of the day is solutions. Keynote speaker Gil Grosvenor, Chairman of
National Geographic Society, will talk about his vision to establish endowments
in all 50 states to fund geography and environmental education independent of
state budgets.
Party/Party
The great wines of the Russian river will be flowing, a
solar powered reggae band will be jamming and fabulous cuisine from local sources will be
served. Many
cool developments will be demonstrated including the Tesla electric roadster. All for a $50 contribution. The event runs from 1-4 p.m. Here’s the press release for additional details.
We’ve made this little promotional video for our friend Joy
Sterling, the host of the party and co-owner of our favorite vineyard, Iron Horse. Joy gives a rundown of Sunday’s events at
Iron Horse.
All the best Joy and the Sterling family for a big success
and good times for all. Wish we could be
there.
Hey, best buy your tickets now as there is limited room. Here’s a blurb about the event in the San Francisco Chronicle.
