CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — As nearly a thousand technologists from around the world gathered this week on the MIT campus for Technology Review’s annual EmTech conference to learn about emerging technologies and to celebrate the young innovators, the mood was decidedly muted, with the precarious global financial situation clearly on the mind of many.
On Wednesday afternoon, I interviewed Jason Pontin, Editor in Chief of Technology Review and
host of the conference about the financial crisis and the implications
for technology innovation and funding. Simply put, he tells me
"everyone in technology is terrified."
Congrats to Jason and his team for another successful conference.
Let’s hope that next year’s event will take place in happier times.
