Banner ads on YouTube for the SarahPAC, the political action committee formed to advance the 2012 presidential candidacy of Alaska's Governor Sarah Palin, are getting some unexpected exposure on YouTube.
References to the governor are pulling up the display ads next to some message-subverting clips.
The Young Turks (TYT) YouTube channel has a clip that featuring photos of an, err, actress playing the governor in from Hustler's soft-core porno Nailin' Palin. The TYT clip, pulbished in October, has racked up 500,000 views, and when we saw it, was carrying a SarahPAC banner ad. The Palin ad is not on the channel now.
While Nailin' Palin was barely noticed at the time of its release, it has received some attention recently with the music video of Eminem and the actress who played the governor in the film.
Today's story in Politico indicates that the Palin fundraising effort has been limited. Today's New York Times has an article about Sarah Palin and her PAC.
Meanwhile, Chris Cillizza at the Washington Post reports this afternoon that SarahPAC
won’t file its fundraising results until July.
