SAN FRANCISCO — Interactive video technology provider Coincident TV is landing both early buzz and deals: the platform provider just inked a deal with Fox's hit show "Glee" to power its interactive video player.
Coincident TV was also selected as a hot new technology to watch during a keynote presentation at ad:tech San Francisco led by eMarketer's CEO Geoff Ramsey.
We caught up with Coincident's CEO David Kaiser recently, and he explained how the technology works. Essentially, Coincident meshes social messaging, e-commerce, and video in one player. Kaiser said the media business will be a first step for the company, but he believes the long-term opportunities lie in the educational and industrial markets.
Kaiser was the founder of once high-flying RespondTV — the company that allowed couch potatoes to order pizza on their TV. Seems like the timing might be better for the venture.
