Synacor, a Buffalo-based company which manages the portals of 45 cable and telcos in the United States, is integrating programming metadata to make video search more comprehensive, says Ron Frankel, CEO of Synacor.
Frankel says that while Google and Clicker provide search around online video offerings, his company integrates metadata from content providers to more deeply search television fare.
The company is involved with the "TV everywhere" initiative. Synacor provides a mediation and authentication platform to enable the TV Everywhere experience for the consumer. Frankel discusses the challenges and opportunities.
