LONDON (via Skype Video) — The Associated Press, a leading provider of video news for broadcast and online media, has upgraded its news gathering and distribution and will be offering broadcast and online clients news video in HD beginning May 30, says the AP’s Mark Davies, Deputy Director of International Video in the AP’s London bureau, in this Skype Video interview with Beet.TV
The effort represents a big investment in cameras, editing and control room facilities. The AP’s sports and entertainment are already in HD. Davies says that the AP will be the first global video news agency to provide “end-to-end” HD video.
