The Monday to Friday online tech news program, CNET Update, debuted a new interactive video player that produces real-time links to topics covered by the show, allowing viewers to read more on each story, while they watch.
It is a new way to make the show more interactive and give the audience more than what can be covered in two minutes, says host, Bridget Carey, in this interview with Beet.TV
Launched in April, the video player was built into the in-house video content management system, in hopes of steering the show away from the traditional “talking heads” format of news.
CNET Update is the first of CNET’s shows to use the new video player. Producers say the click-through rate is driving incremental consumption of CNET News content.
Carey speaks more about the show and what drives traffic, in this video interview with Beet.TV
