LONDON — The future of real-time news gathering will be an army of smartphone users uploading live events via apps including Bambuser, which are authenticated by the Associated Press, and distributed via the giant news organization, says Sandy MacIntrye, the AP’s Vice President and Director of International Video News, in this segment from the Beet.TV Gobal Video News Summit at the Financial Times.
In this segment, MacIntyre explains how the AP is working with Bambuser to generate and distribute hours of live streaming from Homs and other locations in Syria, places where news organizations are not covering.
As part of this this real-time video news operation, the AP uses London-based Streamworks to deliver video to digital publishers.
