AMSTERDAM – Adobe has a new collaborative video editing platform which it announced at the IBC show in Amsterdam. The platform,
called Adobe
Anywhere, enables teams to work together on Premiere, After Effects, and
Prelude projects from virtually anywhere with a network connection.
Beet.TV sat down with Bill
Roberts, Director of Product Management at Adobe Systems, at the IBC show to
find out more about the Anywhere architecture.
Roberts explained that
Anywhere works by “centralizing media and making your location irrelevant. Wherever your media is doesn’t
matter—you can still get to it and it feels like it’s local.” All of media and project information is
stored in one central location that can be accessed by team members from a few
yards away or a few thousand miles away.
Roberts tells us that Adobe
Anywhere will be a great tool for broadcasters, allowing editors in all
locations and in the field to work together and access media back at
headquarters; for post production houses, many of which have presences on
several continents, to share media; and for students and professors to keep and
share all of their projects in one centralized location.
