AMSTERDAM — One of the biggest beasts amongst online video technology vendors says the space has never seen such change.
“We are at a time of fundamental change in the way people are delivering video, and it’s all driven by consumers,” Brightcove CEO David Mendels tells Beet.TV in this video interview at the IBC show.
“There’s been a fundamental revolution in the quality of experience that consumers can have on all these devices in their life. Consumers are expecting all the content they care about, all the time, on any device.”
Business for companies whose technology helps video owners distribute their content digitally is growing. Brightcove went public in February 2012 and, for the second quarter of this year, booked a 17 percent larger profit of $17.7 million on $26.9 million in revenue.
“We’ve had a great year,” Mendels adds. “Our revenue retention last quarter was over 100%. We feel good about that.”
Brightcove just signed a deal to power Viacom video – a partnership Forbes writes will boost revenue further.
