LONDON — The Guardian will reboot its mobile app with a new design in the next few weeks after spending the last year re-thinking its mobile web and mobile app strategy, says chief digital officer Tanya Cordrey.
“Probably within the next month or two, the new Guardian app will be hitting your local app store – it’s going to have a very new, fresh look and feel,” Cordrey tells Beet.TV.
“We believe we’ve made the user experience much more superior. There’s going to be international versions for the first time … it will be editionalized for (readers’) area. It is a far superior product.”
The Guardian is still testing and building a responsively-designed website for cross-platform deployment.
We spoke with Cordrey as part of our series titled “The Road to Cannes,” a preview of the Festival and an overview on the state and future of digital media by a range of thought leaders. The series will be published over the next four weeks. The series is sponsored by Videology.
