Storyful, acquired by News Corp in 2013, has for several years been an authoritative tool for leading publishers to find and verifying consumer-generate and various forms of social content. It has expanded its reach to the advertising world with an agreement with the the giant media agency Starcom MediaVest Group. The alliance was announced last month.
We spoke with Storyful head Rahul Chopra about the significance of the arrangement. SMG announced its platform for acquiring news content for its brand in “Content at Scale” at CES in 2014. Here is our interview from CES with SMG’s Lisa Weinstein who is president of the media agency’s data and analytics group.
Also in the interview, Chopra speaks about the opportunities for publishers like Dow Jones to monetize video outside of the traditional pre-roll.
