IPG was one of several honorees celebrated at the second annual Women in Media & Marketing Awards Luncheon.
Held at JPMorgan Chase Headquarters in New York on May 2 to benefit Breastcancer.org, Beet.TV was on site and spoke with Channing Martin, Chief Diversity & Social Impact Officer, SVP, IPG, who accepted the Champion of DEI Award on behalf of the company.
“It’s a great honor,” Martin told Beet.TV. “We are really excited to be recognized by our peers for such an important organization like Breastcancer.org. “It’s really special, because we operate a company with over 50% of women represented. It’s important we can create spaces where we can protect women, elevate them and give them all of the opportunities they need to be their best selves.”
IPG offers a number of cancer support services through its health care provider and Memorial Sloan Kettering. Moreover, the holding company invests in education, destigmatizing mental health and boasts a global Women Leadership Network for employees that’s there to support and care for colleagues through all stages of life and work.
Channing, who’s own family has a multi-generational history of breast cancer said she was truly inspired by the WIMM event. “These attendees create work that changes behaviors and norms that shift culture and make brands,” she said. “To see everyone come together for one cause, you can see the power of what togetherness can do in people’s lives.”
